Google Code Search

Google have introduced a way of searching publicly available source code it “gives programmers a single place to search publicly accessible source code

Originally it was a tool used internally and was found so useful they decided to offer it outside.

Its really of use for people using OSS code – interestingly  enough I did a search for my name and it pulled up the betsie screen reader that I did a couple of bug fixes on – back when I used to work for Poptel.

Very much a niche search engine but very usefull in that niche.
